I'm hosting a non-profit event on art & 3D printing at the Seattle Public Library Downtown Branch in the main
auditorium this April 8.
We need someone to host a printer at the library that night for a one-shot live demo during the
event.
We've asked around many places with little luck. I'm not making
any money off this event, if anything, losing it just trying to gather a crowd.
I
have 3-4 inch tall models ready to print. YodaGandhi in the attachment is one of them, tested many times via Shapeways. I can format to any file type, DXF, STL, whatever's necessary. My files live on Shapeways now are STL. I understand some Makerbots take DXF on an SD card, which I've already formatted on an SD card ready to go now also. I can down-size my models if that helps, and any material to print is fine with me. The event is about an hour, can run 1.5
hrs. If a printer is brought down about an hour early, hopefully a 3-4 inch
print could finish in about 2 hours.
Of
course we would take every opportunity to publicly thank & promote you for helping at the event. The capacity for the auditorium is over 300. We're
really trying hard to get some good publicity and fill the place for this event. Hopefully it would turn out to be
a high profile format to highlight your printer and the work you do.
