We have been busy beavers making a damn out of Avro files this last month.

The regular meeting will resume next month covering Avro Avro Avro!

Avro is a newly mature serialization mechanism from Doug Cutting (Hadoop creator) that mitigates the problems with Sequence Files (cross platform reading and writing, long term access and small files on HDFS).
