VP -- Marketing and Operations

U.S. subsidiary of the House of Sampoerna. Reported to the President.
This specialty store-door distribution and merchandising company was
established to serve smaller consumer goods manufacturers and their
target retailers.

Designed and launched this unique distribution company.

Defined business concept. Selected vendors and product mix. Responsible
for pricing, marketing and sales strategies and plans. Defined
corporate operating procedures and MIS systems.

Obtained bank financing and managed expansion to ultimately service
7,500 retail accounts.

LIGNUM-2, INC. -- Alameda, Ca 1988 -- 1992
VP -- Marketing and Operations

U.S. subsidiary of the House of Sampoerna. Reported to the President.
A start-up specialty products import, sales and marketing company which
markets parent company's tobacco products, a proprietary line of
premium imported cigars and other complementary consumer products.

Launched this company and led it to profitability by developing several
highly successful lines of premium imported tobacco products
specifically designed for US market.

Built Sampoerna clove cigarette line into the #1 brand. Developed and
launched a successful premium imported cigar line.

HOUSE OF SAMPOERNA USA -- San Francisco, CA 1987 -- 1988
Corporate Staff Marketing Director

Senior Staff consulting position, reporting the Chairman, House of
Sampoerna, Surabaya, Indonesia. Advised CEO's of 4 USA high tech
subsidiaries on marketing, sales and marketing communications
strategies and plans.

Designed market research program to identify customer-base needs for
new disk drive quality control equipment product lines, and developed
marketing and sales programs for those lines which helped build
corporate sales +600%.

J. WALTER THOMPSON -- San Francisco, CA 1982 -- 1986
Senior V.P., Group Account Director, New Business Director
#2 SF Bay Area advertising agency. Reported to General Manager.

New Business Director: Built Agency revenue by 45% during a 2 year
period. Accounts won included ComputerLand, R.T. French, Dole Foods,
Diet Center, Kaiser Permanente and McNeil Securities.

Dole Foods: Developed new product strategy. My teams' advertising,
media and promotion plans launched two new Dole products with test
markets projecting sales in excess of $300MM.

Chef Francisco/Oregon Farms: Directed Agency creative, marketing and
media planning which enabled this small company to achieved #1 sales
position for Oregon Farms frozen cakes despite competition from much
larger Sara Lee and Pepperidge Farms.

Other Accounts: included R.T. French, Castle & Cooke, First Federal
S&L (AZ), Diet Center, Benham Capital Management, McNeil Securities
and Jacuzzi Whirlpool Bath.


YOUNG & RUBICAM -- San Francisco, CA 1978 -- 1982
VP, Director of Account Management, reported to Agency GM.

Co-managed agency launch. Built agency from 3 persons/$3 MM revenue
to 18 staffers/$30MM revenue.

Clorox: Directed development of advertising and marketing plans for
the Client which:
1) made Hidden Valley Ranch salad dressing #1 dry mix and #4
bottled dressing;
2) successfully launched Matchlight Charcoal as the #1 instant
lighting brand;
3) launched Fresh Step cat litter which became #3 brand in the
premium -priced segment;
4) increased Agency billings from this Client by +300%.

Heublein Wines: Developed strategies and directed development of
advertising campaigns to successfully re-launch Colony Wines and
re-image Inglenook wines.

Other accounts included Pacific Stereo, ISU Companies, Inc., New Park
Mall shopping center and Golden Gate Fields Racetrack.


J. WALTER THOMPSON -- Chicago, IL 1976 -- 1977
Account Supervisor, Reporting to Group Management Supervisor.

Quaker Oats: Led Agency's efforts backing 5 new brands which generated
$80MM in new Quaker and Ken'L Ration sales.

Gerber Products: Led Agency's development of new advertising and
promotion plans which reversed a long-term sales and market share
decline for Gerber Baby Foods.


PROCTER & GAMBLE -- Cincinnati, OH 1968 -- 1975
Brand Manager, reporting to Division Advertising Managers.

Brand Manager for Folger's Instant Coffee ($70MM sales) and Crisco Oil
($300MM sales). Built both brands to record sales and market shares.
