this is a non-paying opportunity!

you would work part-time with another developer (me) to build a ruby
on rails web project; the source code would be placed on
sourceforge.net under the gnu public license as it is developed; we
split the development effort 50/50 and share control 50/50 of the
sourceforge.net project;

you would need a laptop computer and be able to work 4-6 hours a day
3-5 days a week at the seattle public library (green lake or
greenwood);

i am an open-source developer myself; i currently work with
javascript, php, mysql, python, sqlite, apache, linux, ... and i am
adding ruby/rails;

here are initial project details:

1. a working demo built back in 2006, works w. ajax and php; it sucks,
but it gives an idea:
http://www.notecard.us/gmv/index.html
look for the notecard link at the top and click it; you can experiment
if you like; it doesn't do much;

2. the current domain, which has no working code; i abandoned an
attempt to do an alternate data-exchange format; the new version will
probably use json, since i works well;
http://www.notecard.us/

3. these are a couple of blog entries; they describe the necessary
changes:
http://notecard.us/wordpress/?p=60 initial ideas
http://notecard.us/wordpress/?p=69 continued development of key ideas
(self-organizing)

Hello Gerard,

Would you be interested in an Open Source contract position in NYC. My
client is looking for an onsite person on a 12 months contract
position.
