-a great Mexican foodstuffs grocer? (I found two smallish places at Pike
Place Market, but would like to find something larger).
and similarly
-can you recommend a great Indian (or Pakistani) Market? Again there's a
small one at Pike Place.
I'm from New Mexico, and my wife is 1/2 Indian (1/2 Chinese), and we're
running out of the Mexican and Indian staples we brought from Boston (the
Chinese staples are no problem!).
Thanks d'avance! -Karlos

I don't know about size or quality, but there's a new place on Lake City
Way called Guadalupana's.

Karlos,
Since I moved here from Denver 7 years ago, I have yet to find
a decent Mexican Restraunt or source of food. The
"lightweights" think some places are decent, but .. well
*yawn*.. you're awfully far north. I hope that changes cause I
am dying for a good Quesadilla. As far as grocers, the one in
the Pike Market you are talking about is the only one I know
of.
I may have to make a trip to LA soon, when I do, I will smuggle
some real food :)

don't know about gobs....my wife and I make two...non-gobby...anyway
we moved here from Boston so she could do her graduate work here.
Actually, I think there's a much greater influx of new people to Boston;
there're about 60 colleges in the area, and people come for school then stay.

There is a fairly new Mexican/Latin American store on Lake City Way just
east of 15th NE. I don't remember the name other than it is La G_____.
Haven't been in there but it is an alternative.

I've also heard that Jalisco's on South Queen Anne (near Denny and 1st W)
near the Coliseum has opened a market across the street from their
restaurant.
