In Magnolia, try Szamania. It's owned and operated by a native Czech (I
think), who has created a restaurant with a wonderful atmosphere, fair
prices for high quality and good wines to choose from. You may have
seen some of their salad dressings sold at supermarkets...They make a
great Ceaser, among other things. Also, at Fisherman's Terminal,
Chinooks is easy and has always been perfectly satisfying.
Good luck and happy eating!

I like Pandasia for two things: The Emporer's Potstickers and
Pandamania. I can actually make a full meal and then some with an
order of potstickers and jasmine rice. The Pandamania lasts me for two
days when I get it as takeout.
Otherwise, I don't find the rest of their menu that interesting.
Interbay just doens't brim with good restaurants (or many) as far as I
can tell.

It's in a white-painted house, serving weekend brunch, and it's to the point
now where people don't go there because it's so crowded. Let me know if it's
good or if my friends just wanna imagine they live near a breakfast place.

Next time try their Scallops in a cilantro sauce. their homemade noodles
are unbelievable(Judy Foo was the original chef. She is now at her own
place-Snappy Dragon)Their veggie or pork potstickers are great. And
whatever you do, do not forget to order their Mu Shu Pork. In reality, the
fried rice is the only thing bad on the menu. And if driving to Interbay is
not your thing, there is another Pandasia in Wedgewood at about 65th St. I
am sorry that you had a bad experience. I would hope that you give it
another chance, and possibly try some of these suggestions.
While it is quite possible that it has gone downhill, I would give it a
second chance. If not, please try the Snappy Dragon on Roosevelt at about
90th. The homeade noodles and eggplant are wonderful dishes.

If you go to Chinooks, be sure to leave room for the blackberry cobbler.

I'll Bite...Is it Kimball's? Never been there but it's about a half a
block south and on the opposite side of the street from the Thriftway
store. It's on the corner. Anyway, I get coupons in the mail
(Value-Pak or something like that) with coupons for Kimball's regularly
but have not tried it yet. So, don't know if it's good. Some help I am,
huh!!

Before Pandasia changed hands (as I understand it) -- back when it was
called Pandas -- it had two locations, one in Magnolia, and one over east
and north of the U-District. In the Pandas days, I ate at both locations;
the menus were the same, and the food was very good.
When they split up there were two major changes:
1) The Magnolia branch changed their name to Pandasia, their menu changed,
and the food went downhill in a major way (IMO).
2) The North Seattle branch changed their name to The Black Pearl, the
menu stayed about the same, and the quality of the food only dipped
a tad. (IMO).
I was wondering if those who stilled extolled the pleasures of Panda's were
refering to the North Seattle branch, and not the Magnolia branch...
(Of late, I've fallen in love with The Asian Wok and Grill in Freemont. And
they do take-out. Schwing!)

"It's true, we can't, no."
