Has anyone seen this in a brick and mortar store? I just ordered some
online from Sur La Table but if it's as good as they claim it is, then I
want a local source. But... I live in Bothell so Seattle proper is a bit
far for me to go. I assume there is a Sur La Table there. I think there
used to be anyway. Says online that TJ Maxx and Home Goods carry it but
those are places I rarely go. Has anyone seen it in those places? Or
anywhere else? Whole Foods has it but only in S. CA. Thanks!

Sur La Table has a shop on Pine Street, just a frog's hop from the Pike
Place Market.

But I don't know anything about White Cat Popcorn, or whether the
downtown Sur La Table sells it.

You're in Bothell? Fancy that - Cindy and I just moved from Wedgwood to
Bothell.

Ah, that's the place I remembered from when we lived here before. I just
never get out that way. I did order enough stuff to give me free shipping.
So that's good. We moved back here from NY about 8 years ago. I was rather
shocked to see how different it was from when we first moved from Edmonds in
the mid '90s. Used to be farm county. It's not that way now!

The other half of the Wedgwood-to-Bothell move here. Sur la Table has
stores in Bellevue (the Bravern) and Kirkland. No need to go to downtown
Seattle! You could call either one to see if they have it.

Well I rarely get out those ways either. Will be going right next door to
the Bravern next week though! Did go to TJ Maxx in Edmonds and they had
none. Thanks!

Yeah. We did go through there just prior to moving to NY so like...2002 or
so. Even then it was a lot different than I remembered it in my childhood.

The place that really gets me is Lynnwood. Used to have a nice little
casual restaurant called Jimbo's. Intended to take my daughter there to eat
but then they closed. And so did the gas station that was on that corner.
Can't remember what else was there but it was all torn down and just sat
there vacant for many years. Now they are building it into a big series of
strip malls full of chain places. Bad (IMO) chain places. Like Qdoba. We
don't need any more of those! They are everywhere now. Give me a nice good
restaurant please!

Ah, the nostalgia craze. Let me enter into it. I first moved here in 1970.
Moved to apt Overlake. Visited relatives living on Sammamish Plateau in
Redmond. Not ONE single traffic lite in Redmond!!! The only restaurant was
Herfy's.

I'm not a big burger lover but I did like Herfy's. Mostly we ate at Arctic
Circle or D's drive in, in Edmonds. I loved their burritos.

Oh, now you've got me lapsing nostalgic. My first visits to the Pac NW
were in the early 1970s, on cross-country road trips with college
buddies. We discovered Arctic Circle and became addicted to their
milkshakes, made with fresh fruit. Whenever we came across one of those
restaurants, we would stop for burgers and shakes.

I remember that their signage used to feature a crazy chicken in a
cowboy costume. Are there cowboy chickens in the arctic?

Sadly, I don't think they have any current locations near Seattle.

Actually, there is still a Herfy's in Lynwood on 196th St near Aurora. Not
sure if it is anything like the original.

It's long gone. Used to be a Pizza Hut. Now just looks like they started
to tear it down and quit. But there is one in Edmonds on 9th, next door to
Chopsticks. Little dingy place. My mom gets food there sometimes. Didn't
impress me at all.

Isn't there one on Fremont, just a couple of blocks south of N 46th St? I
drive past it all the time on the way to Paseo - and really, if Paseo is
just a couple of blocks away, why would anyone go to Herfy's?

I don't know. Have only been back to that area since I moved back maybe
once. And that was years ago.

Once place that I used to like in the Fremont area was Goldie's. Yeah it
was a dive but danged good food! Also went to the ones in Edmonds and
Lynnwood.
