Dearest 'rats,
I would like to start a co-op group for Steamrats that create smallish
amounts of art and craft, and would like to share space at Seattle
vending opportunities.
Usually this would be a 6 foot table, unless we expand beyond that
size. I think we could have as many as 3-4 artists at a time, provided
they could fit their wares in an approximate space of 1 1/2 to 2 feet
wide. The benefits would be shared vending fees, and table babysitting
time, not to mention a wider range of interested shoppers, and our
usual vivid social interaction, which is always fun.
Most venues require a business licence, or temporary vending permit,
which you would be responsible for having.

Robert is also working out a paypal computer station, so customers
would be able to do cashless transactions with ease.

The first event is at the Little Red Studio Erotic Steampunk
festival. The Vendor's Faire will be on Saturday, July 10, from 12:00
to 8:00, and Sunday, July 11 from 12:00 to 5:00.
The vendor's fee for a 6 foot table is $40.00 for the entire event. I
will provide the table(s).
So far, I will be vending my Baubles from Clockwork Beetle Curiosites,
and the enchanting Ms. Draco will be joining me with her lovely
creations. I think we could have one more person, or perhaps 2.
We can all split the vending fee according to how many participate. It
would also be possible to get a second table, if there is enough
interest, and we act fast.
The LRS is expecting 300-500 folks over the weekend.

So, anybody interested?
Please let me know ASAP!

Dumb question, but why not find someone who is already attending, and
ask if you can vend on their table? Later if you wind up getting a
few more people together than one table can hold and you need to get a
second vendors table, you just created your group.

I've just found it easier to start an organized group out of a group
of people that are already together, rather than start from scratch.

I'm interested, but I -just- discovered steampunk. I'm still feeling
out what is and isn't in the style design-wise. Jewelry-making is a
hobby for me, so I don't know that I would have enough to justify
taking up space at a booth, either.

Are you coming to Steamvents tonight? I'd like to meet you, and perhaps
see what you make!

I couldn't come yesterday, I was not safe to drive (migrainte). I'm
probably going to be one of those people who comes every other/every
third week ^_^; But I'm planning on coming next week and I'll try to
remember to bring stuff then.
