Yes!  I'm hoping this is going to be epic.  Seattle gets the first stop on this years-long tour.  The exhibit is mounted by the Smithsonian and LucasFilm.  It is quite likely the local chapters of the Rebel Legion and the 501st Legion will be there in costume to support the exhibit, particularly for the opening.

I hope so! I spoke to a few at ECCC this last year but it was hard to get clear information on how to join since there isn’t a clear presence here in Seattle. This looks amazing. Whoo hoooo!

I was an active member of Garrison Titan a long time back, now, and can at least point you to their website.  If Jedi Kai sees this, she's a truly great resource for Seattle Star Wars connections, too (although she's strongly aligned with the wrong side of the Force) (from a 501st perspective).

Thanks! I admit I sometimes lean Sith myself…they have the coolest costumes.

Mars.... do you mean it wasn't clear how to join Alpha Base or Garrison Titan??  If so, I can help....

This is threading oddly.  I now see Carol's response and I guess that is what you do mean.  So.... the short answer is that one must have a Legion approved, movie-quality costume.  There IS significant presence in Western WA for both groups and they will help you get a costume developed.

Alpha Base is listed in the forums here.  Join and there is a lot of help available for Rebel Legion (good guy/light side) costumes:  http://www.forum.rebellegion.com/forum/
For 501st, here is the dedicated message board for Garrison Titan (bad guys/dark side):  http://www.garrisontitan.com/theboard/index.php

Join one or both depending on your interests.  That is how you start the path to joining one or both of these groups.

I was directed to the Alpha Base website and couldn’t really get a grip on what was involved with joining. It seemed like I first have to have a perfectly screen-accurate costume that had to be judged before I could join officially. Clear info appreciated!

I have been a Seattle Browncoat for years so I’m used to working tables on and off and that sort of thing but my main problem with the costuming thing was the expense. Can you just rough out for me the procedure for getting approved?
