Wouldn't it be smashing to have a corner of the parade route where all
the attending Steampunks can meet, view the festivities, and be a
united presence in support for our own Gabriel Cain, who will be
premiering his 3 wheeled Air Kraken?

What say you all?
Best place to stake our claim?
When to get there?
Portable tea service? (or maybe not...)

The parade starts at Noon, I believe.
Always a good idea to bring a folding chair.

Your Servant in all things cat herding,

BTW, the Parade and fair is this Saturday,June 18.
The Fair continues on Sunday, too.

http://www.fremontfair.org/

The parade starts at noon, but perhaps we should be there around
10ish?

People will begin to set up shop early that morning. If you do not have a section roped off or have chairs out etc. in order to hold enough space, you will lose it soon, with no one able to join you.

My suggestion would be for an early person to be there around 9 am. Setup shop in whatever way will hold people back. Having a relief to help guard would help.

Those who wish to see the parade should be there between 10 - 11 am. After 10:30 or so is when people start to pile up.

My suggestion for place is on the north side near the statue of Lenin. Or along that section. There will be an emcee on stilts right around there, there are supposed to be port-a-potties set up somewhere near there, a beer garden will be set up in the alley next to Deluxe Junk, and if you would like real toilets the Masonic Lodge (entrance on 36th) will be open on Saturday.

my 2 cents.

Brilliant!
Thank you Miles!
Will you be there?

If past experience is any indicator - even at 9:00am one should plan to park a ways away and have a bit of a hike to the parade site so pack light & wear shoes you can walk in!

I live in Fremont and also recommend parking more toward Gasworks park than trying to get in on the residential hill above the route: I live up near Markettime and we have consistently had zero open parking spots even way up here for the last four years by 10:00 am...

Hi all! I will there - I'll have a booth selling my jewelry. Sounds
like I should lay in a flat of water bottles for Steampunk Ground
Support... :)
Stop by and say hello, I'll be in a corner booth right near the
intersection of 35th and Evanston. Just across from the art cars.
Sadly my stock of "strictly steampunk" is a bit depleted but there
will be lots of pretty shiney things anyway.

Also -- there may be scattered showers on Saturday, so bring a
jacket!

Bully!
Ok, all. Here's the plan for Rupert and I on Saturday morning. We will
be in Freemont by 9:30, if not a bit earlier. We plan to stake out some
territory using our folding chairs near Lenin's Statue on the north
side, as suggested by Miles.

I will be in my usual Steampunk togs, so you shouldn't have too much
trouble finding me.

If you would like to join us, please try and get there as close to
9:30-10:00 as possible.

Hope to see you there!

Have fun, y'all.  I'll be missing the fun too, with my vending shenanigans.  I'll be in the garage under the Red Door Alehouse, along the West wall, if anyone wants to stop by and say hello afterwards.

Daniel and I are planning to be there but won't be able to make it
until 11:30 as Daniel has to prep for a gig and get into clown garb
and make-up first. He has to go to a gig down south after the parade.
