Since at least two people at jigsaw have expressed interest in learning Calculus to me I figured that, instead of just working with the two I happen to have talked to, perhaps we should make a class? I'm sending this out to the math group lists (both of them) and da vinci (jigsaw's mailing list, for you non jigsaw people) so that those who are interested in helping teach/sit in to help answer questions as well as those who want to learn can join in. For the initial meeting I've made a doodle (schedule polling dealio to find out when everyone is collectively free), during which meeting we'll discuss books/resources to use, where everyone already is knowledge wise, what everyone wants to get out of the class, and finally, when the next one should be.
I'd like for it to be very informal, everyone able to work at their own pace, dive deep into what they want to, get help where they need it, and learn the bits they really care about (as well as ignore the rest, when that's feasible). If this works well and I can get enough help from others in the meetup, there will likely end up being more math classes at jigsaw.
So. For those of you interested,
please go
here and select the dates and times that work best for you. I attempted to not overlap times in the poll with any jigsaw events, but please let me know if I have done so on accident.
