Starting up again next Monday, from 6-8 PM, the math meetup is studying machine learning. We're mainly using the stanford machine learning lectures and lecture notes, because they have the fewest dependencies. Also, as a fallback, if we collectively haven't had enough time between meetups to do much studying, we can watch the lectures at the meeting and have enough time to discuss afterwards. It'd be good for us to all be through at least the first lecture (only thirty minutes of actual content!) by next Monday, or even better the first two (I do not actually expect that to happen, but try for it!). I won't be sending these reminders regularly, but a number of people have been interested once I mentioned machine learning is our current topic, so I figured it was best to try to grab the rest of you who might want to learn about it.
