to seattle math
Went over ITILA a bit (free in pdf form here: http://www.inference.phy.cam.ac.uk/mackay/itila/),
those of us interested will be starting at chapter 20 (the book says
you can go out of order! It has a dependency graph!). It's a slick
book on machine learning and information theory. We're starting at
the information theory bit.

We'll also be poking at the bremmerman limit next week, which looks
really fun. These papers seem to be good starting points:

Also some physics geeks would be helpful.

Also went over a few problems I had in the calculus book I'm reading.
Will be more questions next week, I'm sure.

A reminder: we collectively choose the content of the meetings. You
can choose by having something interesting to present, a question to
ask about, or a suggestion of a topic/book to study with whoever's
interested. Also feel free to make any other suggestions about
improving the group. And invite people! Attendance has been
dwindling a bit, and I'd like to make sure the meeting doesn't die.
