We did the FreeAppaDay.com site's promotion on Monday Feb 8th, and I thought I'd share the results.   It was for our iCatchall app:  www.app2.it/icatchall

They are kinda selective and passed on a new game I'd sent first.  They want apps with a good number of ratings, as well as a 3-star average of those ratings.  And they prefer if it's been an Apple pick at some point.  (One of the variations on iCatchall had been an Apple pick, and the site has had many more games than utilities, so that helped us get in.)

It does cost to do it, $600, but for us the promotion will work out to be worth it.

On the day, it quickly got to the upper rankings in the Utilities section.  Peaking at #2--with ~76,000 downloads for the day!  The next day when it was back to paid, it sold around 30 times what it had been averaging, and was back into the paid Utilities charts (#70).  And some offers within the app pulled a few others of ours higher in the charts (and into the charts for the first time for one).
can see the chart progress.

Over the past week, the 30x sales the day after have faded, but it is still selling about 4x as many as it did before.  Especially as we were able to pull some other apps up too, we'll make our money back and then some.
