Hi, I'm not sure how many of you have seen last week's changes in the
app store.

1. Apple has added a little more transparency in the review process
with a new Status-History page.
So I was able to see the status of my update-submission change from
"Waiting for Review" to in-review.
(If you don't see the history page, just make a small edit to to your
app description and then it wil show you the history and current
review status). This is a good change

2. Another change is that update-dates will no longer be used to sort
apps in the "released-by" category. I'm hoping this change cuts down
on bogus updates checked in by devs (and that Apple makes sure that
people don't workaround the new policy by resubmitting old apps as new
apps)

I'm curious to know what other guys think about the changes

I'm not too jazzed about the no-visibility-on-update thing. It's a lot
less incentive now to keep updating the app, and more incentive to
invest a lot before first release which makes it hard to get
featureset right without any customer feedback. Oh well.

I've been waiting two+ months for App approval.

Apple's response has been very vague "Its in review".

Any ideas on what to do?

Consider trying to shoot a mail to appr...@apple.com.  We let them know our app ID and when we submitted; they got back to us in a couple days saying they were looking into the delay.  Our app was approved shortly thereafter, but it's hard to tell if that was the result of the email.

Regardless, they should be able to figure out what's up.

You might want to wait a few days, right now the app store "New Releases" are all messed up.  They haven't updated and shown anything "new" since the 19th.  (How that's gone on this long without anybody at Apple noticing it and fixing is crazy.)

It would suck to wait your two months and then get approved just in time to not appear in the list.  I'd wait until that's fixed before bumping them to check the status.
