Global Issues and Perspectives –
Sustainability in Exile: Tibetan Farmers Cultivating Compassion

Jonathan ScherchFilm Viewing and Discussion
Jonathan Scherch, Ph.D., core faculty,
Center for Creative Change
Lobsang Tsering
Produced by Scherch, Tsering and a team of AUS students and advisors, the film builds on Scherch's and Tsering's sustainable agriculture projects over the years and introduces the challenges and opportunities Tibetan farmers face as they pursue sustainable, compassionate farming practices. While the film focuses on farmers in four Tibetan refugee settlements – Bylakuppe, Hunsur, Mundgod, and Kollegal – the experiences of these pioneers hold important sustainability insights for all of us.
