Sacred Tibetan Sand Mandala and Tibetan Events at the Center for Spiritual Living
October 10 -12 2012
Tibetan Children’s Education Foundation is honored to welcome the Venerable
Ngawang Chojor as he creates a Sand Mandala of Compassion at
the Center for Spiritual Living :5801 Sand Point Way NE Seattle
The Venerable Chojor, a Tibetan Buddhist monk, is considering retiring next year to his
home monastery in India so we are truly excited to host him here at the Center for
Spiritual Living community for perhaps one of his last mandalas in the USA.
The Venerable Chojor is considered a master sand mandala creator ,held in high
esteem throughout the world. He will be creating a mandala of compassion . Opening
ceremony is at 10am on October 10 with prayers and offerings as the Venerable Chojor
lays the first grains of sand.
He will continue to create the sand mandala all week and the public is welcome to
attend daily from 10 am thru 5:30 pm. Come and sit for a few minutes or a few hours as
the Venerable Chojor vibrates a metal funnel (charpor) and directs each grain of sand
into the beautiful design while saying prayers of compassion for all beings. It is a
powerful experience to be in the presence of this sacred creation. Karma Tensum,
Executive Director of TCEF will be on hand to translate.
