"I think it would be great if we (the broad Drupal community) could
put together a series of online courses which teach people different
aspects of Drupal." -- jim0203
(jim0203 tried to get a new Drupal group designated for Drupalversity,
but was turned down by the gate keepers.)
I have been following the pro/con discussion for a Drupalversity (DV)
proposal for a few months. I keep thinking the discussion will die out
and be lost in the haze of similar debates, but, not so far. People
keep contributing their ideas and I get the feeling that "something
new is in the air". Some of the tension is between how to recycle and
integrate what is available in the wild and what/when to build new. I
think DV proposes to recycle/integrate resources into curricula but I
am not clear on how that could be done.
A proponent for Drupal Dojo and Drupal Kata (gusaus) has been making
constructive comments, even though he supports more established, and
probably rival, initiatives:

I tossed in the idea of getting a product of the product, ie, LMS+SCORM
+Registry
http://groups.drupal.org/node/42236#comment-156418
but that suggestion didn't get much traction.
A later comment by Becky Kenney made me appreciate the heavy lifting
required to make LMS+SCORM+Registry happen: http://groups.drupal.org/node/42236#comment-156313
(plus preceeding thread.)
I found this side initiative to be interesting and potentially useful
to local Drupalistas:
