Does SurveyMonkey have comparable options?

Based on feature comparisons and survey test cases, I rank the top 3
hosts thus:
EsurveysPro 1st choice
KwikSurveys 2nd choice
Yourpinion 3rd choice

(FYI, I considered all the free survey hosts listed here: http://www.axess.im/bfb
)

The free survey host evaluation wiki page is here in case you want to
contribute:
http://groups.google.com/group/seattle-drupal-beginner/web/hosted-survey-services

I will attempt to use EsurveysPro (ESP) for further survey development
or until I hit a speed bump or someone offers a better solution. Free
ESP doesn't support data export but the online reporting should be
sufficient for our needs. I will use screen captures to share the
data. If someone wants to get at the admin features, I will share the
login password.

My attention is shifting from host evaluations to implementing the
survey.
Contribute your survey questions or make suggestions here:
http://groups.google.com/group/seattle-drupal-beginner/web/drupal-beginner-survey-plan

You can monitor survey progress here: http://tinyurl.com/yc5zzzk
(respondent password = seadug)
You should be able to return and edit your test responses. If not, let
me know. Once the survey is ready for use, I will clear the test
responses, and announce the survey on SeaDUG.

Cheers,
-John Walling

just a quick note:

a little confused about "familiar" "unfamiliar" "beginner"
"intermediate" "advance"
maybe too many options?

also, i thought "next" was taking me to more questions. but looked
like it was "submit" :D

Update to previous message:
I am still figuring out the correct response settings, so you may or
may not be able to edit previous survey responses. Below are the
possible choices. I think the first choice is appropriate for the
published survey, but none of the other choices are ideal for testing.
For now, I am using the third choice.
- John

Copied from admin page:
Responses Allowed per User
1 Single Response - Respondents are prevented from responding to the
survey more than once. Respondents that return to a survey will
continue where they left off and can edit their original answers.
2 Single Response, Non-Updateable - Respondents are prevented from
responding to the survey more than once. Respondents that return to a
survey will continue where they left off but may not edit their
original answers.
3 Multiple Responses - Respondents may complete the survey as many
times as they want. Respondents that return to an incomplete survey
will continue where they left off and can edit their original answers.
4 Multiple Responses, Anonymous - Respondents may complete the survey
as many times as they want Respondents may not return to partially
completed surveys. This is useful for multi-user environments.
5 Quick Data Entry - After survey completion, user is taken to the
start of the survey to input another response. Respondents that return
to an incomplete survey will continue where they left off and can edit
their original answers.

John,

this look pretty good, I think. Thanks so much for putting this together. I had a few questions/comments:

  1. Are any of the questions compulsory? It wasn't clear to me from the interface which ones were, could we maybe say that explicitly?
  2. On page 2, are questions 3 and 4 the same? One is about frequency of SeaDBSG meetings, and the other one says, "How many times do you want to meet?"
  3. For both pages 2 and 3, I'd suggest adding "and/or volunteer" along with "help organize." It might sound too onerous for someone who's reading the survey when they see the word "organize." "Volunteer" seems to suggest a more passive role and might get more people hooked in.
  4. Can we have a bigger textbox for the comments question at the very end of pages 2 and 3?
Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving holiday! Looking forward to more Drupal goodness soon.

Sameer.
