to Seattle Central Community College Sustainability Club
Notes for Campus sustainability network of January 7th 2011
I didn't take Roll, so if you came to the meeting, you know who you
are.
Main Points:
• Three main projects: Last Quarter we focused on 3 major projects to
work on.
1. Create a composting network for SCCC.
2. Ban plastic Bottles from Campus
3. Hire a sustainability coordinator for SCCC to organize sustainable
practices.
• Make the Campus Sustainability network into an Official Club
1. Start recruiting members into the clubs by going into classrooms
and talking about the club.
2. Draft up a mission statement and being process with paperwork.
3. Start attending interclub meetings with a representative for the
CSN.
4. Create a table for a club presentation by Thursday.
• Creating a board with student leadership for sustainability on
campus.
Some Ideas Discussed:
• Put in sustainability related articles into the school newspaper.
• Get in the process of taking and learning how to do Energy Audits
• Get involved with Unicef’s “Tap” Project.
Upcoming Tasks:
• Get the ball rolling on making this an official club.
• Coordinate time to meet to make a booth for Thursday.
• Make flyers, posters, banners, etc etc for said booth.
