Hi,
all I am not sure when I'll be able to meet or e-mail the facility Director here at SCCC. I've been very busy. So, I am sorry that I'm not being very productive...

Sorry
Maria

so, I dunno if this is old news. and i'm not sure if i'm just
replying to you Maria or to the whole group. Hopefully the whole
group.
but. I talked to some of the culinary arts students. They said right
now the city takes the compost away, but with the new greenhouse
(which I tried to find it, but couldn't.. do you guys know where it
is?) they are going to start composting on campus starting at the
beginning of next quarter. Also, there is someone named Karen, or
something similar, who is one of the lead chefs in the culinary
department who is all about Sustainability. I think s/he would be a
good good contact.

Hi, Nathaniel
thank you for the info :) I do think that you're responding to the whole group since this gets posted onto the club's googlegroups.  I have no idea where the green house is or who Karen is... I would ask the culinary arts students.  anyway I can't wait to do some composting next quarter :) I also appologiez once again that I am unable to be productive :(

Thank you
Maria

Hi Nathaniel.

If its any help, I think if you walk down Pine towards Downtown its between Harvard and Boylston, between a house and parking.  I could be wrong, might go check it out myself tomorrow.

Any news on a next meeting?

yes yes. I found the greenhouse. They have a pile of branches and
some landscaped space with some rocks in it. real nice building
though.
For further clarification it is right next to the big gray parking
garage on the north side of pine. really,
don't worry about not having time Maria. It's almost finals and we're
All real busy. Also, I talked to Katie Chenu. Her ENV150 class does
service learning and she'd love if we could use some of them for the
compost pile.

Also. I had a look at the recycling system. It is shit. first of
all.... Seattle sorts all the recycling now days so it's pointless
having 3 separate bins for paper, plastic, and glass. Also, there
are so few! maybe if anyone has time we can actually count the
garbage cans and recycling bins, and take a look how much recycling
about is being thrown away? I have an hour everyday between ten and
eleven if anyone wants to meet up and do this?

Next meeting will be Friday 1-2. I'm not sure what room we'll be in
yet though.
