Hello,

I know we've been very welcoming of new members lately.  My friend Michelle is interested - she's been looking for a book club for awhile.  I've cc'd her.  Stacey, do you mind adding her to the google group, please.

Also, did we decide what date we are meeting in October?  I think my vote, since 3rd Wednesday didn't work for Rachel is to meet 4th Wednesday instead.  So October 28th.

Welcome Michelle!

I think Oct. 28 would be perfect--the book is almost 500 pages long so having an extra week to read would be great!

BTW, you're out of luck if you want to get this one at the library. Over 150 holds on about 30 copies...

Darn, I can't do the 28th - I have a board meeting the last Wed of every month. I'd love to borrow the book when someone's done. I want to read the last one too...

And, I know my vote carries little weight as I've been so absentee but once the rains come and home projects subside, I hope to attend more. I have two recommendations for future books:

New Nick Horby: http://www.amazon.com/Juliet-Naked-novel-Nick-Hornby/dp/1594488878/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1253735284&sr=8-1

and Rick Steves book, Travel as a Political Act: http://www.amazon.com/Travel-Political-Act-Rick-Steves/dp/1568584350/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1254243730&sr=1-1

I would love to host now that my painting project is finished - I think we're probably to the December or January meeting by now. If the group is game for the RIck Steves book I'd love to host that month.

See y'all soon, I hope!
Deb

Yes, it would be in January.  I'm interested in reading the new Nick Hornby, but it's only in hardback at this point.  The Rick Steves book sounds interesting to me!

Rachel is hosting October, Allison is hosting November, I am hosting December, Deb is hosting January.

Also, a reminder that we can review past topics here:
