It looks like I was overly optimistic when I responded that MOHAI could
participate in this fall's Seattle Archives Month. We are just too busy
and frazzled about our upcoming move to focus on anything else. Thanks
for thinking of us anyway, perhaps next year we can participate.

Have I missed the call to submit our information for the booklet/brochure( address, photo, etc) ? I have a few days left in town to send something. Otherwise, will I miss the deadline/opportunity?
Thanks!

Hi Emily:
We will have 15 tables for the Archives Fair. We may be able to divide/share some of them so that everyone can have a space.
Have we found a speaker yet? I am thinking we might want to try for someone who uses archives which would be quite interesting to a general audience. Something like History Detectives...just a thought.
See you tomorrow.
Jodee

Dear Colleagues,
October is Archives Month and it’s right around the corner. This year a committee of archivists led by King County Archivist Deb Kennedy is planning activities for Puget Sound area repositories. The committee has decided to hold two events plus create an archival repository guide.
We invite you to get involved. We will hold an Archives Fair October 5th at the downtown Seattle Public Library from 10 to 3. In addition, a mini Archives Fair will be held at Bellevue Community College on October 29th in conjunction with the public workshop, Basics of Historical Research. We invite you to be part of one or both of these fairs. Please note space is limited at both venues.
Lastly, we need your input for the guide to archival repositories in the area. This idea was inspired by the very successful passport program created by the Seattle Public Libraries in 2008 which introduced the newly opened branches of the library system. Our guide will provide basic information about local repositories.
Please reply to this email by September 2 with responses to the following questions:
1) Would you like to participate in the Archives Fair on October 5th at the central branch of the Seattle Public Library?
2) Would you like to participate in the Archives Fair on October 29th in Bellevue?
3) Would you like to be part of the archival repository guide? If you answer yes, we will send you a follow-up with the information we currently have for your repository so you can verify and/or update the data.
Thanks for your time and we hope to see you in October!
Sincerely,
Archives Month Publication sub-committee members

Hi-
I just wanted to followup with you—Seattle University is confirmed for the Archives Fair. It will open to the public at 10 am on Oct 5 (Wed) and close at 3 pm. There will a noon program (Paula Becker from HistoryLink will talk about her experience using archives to research Century 21—she is a very engaging speaker).
I’ll have some coffee, Danish/fruit for you all! And there will be carts in the garage to help you get your things to Level 10.
Looking forward to this!
