Could you please respond to this OR email me direct if you still
follow the group here. I'd like to turn this into something a little
more organized, and definitely get a face to face meeting together
soon.

Android market is going 'paid' soon, and I for one would love to get
feedback on thoughts here, market size, interest, etc.

I know TMobile is building a 100+ person team here in Seattle just to
work on Android apps.

Thanks,

John

Furthermore,

The group is now invite only, and I am removing all the SPAM :)

Android is going to be very popular this year (2009), lets get the
community in Seattle rolling

Cheers,
John

You know I'm in, very interested in monitizing my apps/ideas and some ideas on marketing so my apps can stand above the soon to be thousands of competing ones.

Wow, total runon sentence

Thanks!

PS: re: intro, I'm an Eastside-area Android system/network tool
developer. As a user, I'd like to try and get one of the 3 OpenStreetMap
apps to work, especially with local data.

ran into this group

http://www.seattlemobile.org/

contacted the Chairman, David Adams, who said that their next meeting will most likely be in March.  Maybe we can contact them to see if any Android specific people want to join this group as well.

If this list is indeed alive, then these groups also might care (in
addition to Seattle Mobile):

PSHUG - Puget Sound Handheld Users Group
http://www.pshug.org/

SeaJUG - Seattle Java User's Group
http://seajug.org/

GSLUG - Greater Seattle Linux Users Group
http://www.gslug.org/

Seattle Tech Startups

Any ideas/thoughts?

I'm up for a meeting, esp if we can get some people from other groups and companies to show up.  I've got a couple of sources I could tap once we have a date.

We may want to avoid Tue, March 10 because it is the next meeting for the Seattle Tech Startup.  I'm planning on attending that meeting, and I bet we can get some of them to come to our meet up if it's on a different date.  And if it could be a different day then Wednesday it'd be a little easier for me.
