Hi,
One more time. For anyone still pinching themselves over the recent cycling infrastructure announcement and wondering if we perhaps misplaced a decimal . . . . I've uploaded the now "official" map so you can see for yourself:
The lines in red show what +$20 Million dollars worth of cycling infrastructure over 2 years will do. (and I've heard there is more on the way) I've also attached some pictures of the announcement itself - courtesy of Janice Lukes. Note the presence of all 3 levels of government and all 3 major political parties.
Don't get me wrong, your stewardship will still be needed. This is still just a start. "Engaging" an entire community is an ongoing process, even with something as simple as riding a bicycle . . . and building it (especially building it right) is where you are most needed.
Nonetheless, to all of the countless (and sometimes thankless) volunteers, online "commentors", feedback providers, meeting attendees, organizers and supporters of every kind, please enjoy this moment, this one's for you.
Sincerely,
Anders Swanson
