Hi,

I've read the blog about io_uring (How io_uring and eBPF Will Revolutionize Programming in Linux) and also noticed some related patches last year (but without any further updates)

Do you still plan to support io_uring in Seastar? If not, what's the consideration?

Thanks!

I would love to add io_uring support to Seastar, but it's just not a priority for me. We don't see any bottlenecks with linux-aio, and while I expect io_uring to be a little faster, it won't be a revolution.

io_uring is a great improvement for applications moving from synchronous I/O and epoll, but it's not a huge step up from linux-aio.

If you want to work on it, I'm happy to provide guidance and review patches.
