Hi all,

Since I am no longer the only person contributing to the codebase, I
thought it was important to let you all know what I'm up to.

If you recall the roadmap <http://seashore.sourceforge.net/
roadmap.php> the next release was meant to focus on Core Image effects
and plug-ins. To this end, I've been implementing the Core Image
effects as plug-ins.

Now that I have a basic code template for the Core Image plug-ins, the
rest should be easy but tedious to implement.

I just did a count to see how many of the Core Image effects are
appropriate for Seashore and the tally is like so:

Core Image effects already implemented: 9
Core Image effects to be implemented: 50
Core Image effects that will not be implemented in this release: 41

Thus 15% of Core Image plug-ins are complete. I am also hoping to
implement some of the really simple Core Image plug-ins without Core
Image so that our 10.3 and G3 users can use them. This is why
Nikolaus's task this week was to implement the Sepia plug-in.

The Core Image plug-ins are proving slightly more difficult than
expected. The problem is largely there are so many of them. The good
news is that, as of this moment, 50% of the Core Image plug-ins are
implemented.

This makes the tally:

Core Image effects already implemented: 29
Core Image effects to be implemented: 29
Core Image effects that will not be implemented in this release: 42

Over three-quarters of the Core Image plug-ins are now implemented.
After the full set of plug-ins are implemented, we will go into
feature lock for the 0.2.0 release.
