Seashore previously used click-to-change units. This meant you could
click on a unit text label and it would change from "px" (pixels) to
"in" (inches) to "mm" (millimeters).
Seashore uses these click-to-change units in four places:
1. The "Boundaries..." panel
2. The "Scale..." panel
3. The panel that appears when you click on a layer's title
4. The info panel
I want to eliminate these click-to-change unit labels in 1-3 and offer
an alternative for 4.
For 1-3, I want to adopt the mechanism that is used in the new image
dialog, that is, where a pop-up menu is provided instead.
For 4, I want to keep the click-to-change labels but also offer the
ability to set units in the "Preferences...".
The problem with click-to-change unit labels is they are not obvious
to the user.
I would really like this change to take place before the 0.2.0
release.
Some of the unit code was written by Stephen, so he has some
understanding of what needs to be done. So I guess my question is
Stephen, or anyone else, would you be able to help make this change? I
fear if I do it all myself, it will take even longer to get Seashore
0.2.0 released.
Mark.
Since I'm currently working on the Boundaries, I would be fine taking
this on as I finish those up.

For example, if I press the "Set boundaries relative to content"
checkbox when using the pixel units and then switch to the inch units,
the width and height values no longer make sense.
Could you please look into this problem?
Thanks,
Mark.
I haven't had a change to throuroughly debug any of the features I've
added to the most recent release. I'll be done with class on the 15th,
and I should have a lot more free time after that to spend on
programming. Thanks for the heads-up though :)

Thanks for removing the click-to-change units in those dialogs.
Are you still going to add the pop-up menus so you can change the
units (just like in the new image dialog)?
Also I noticed the suffixes are gone in the Info panel but people will
still need them to tell what unit they are using. So could you re-add
those?
Thanks,
Mark.
