Excellent program. Best open source non adobe wacom pressure sensitive
painting app for mac at the moment.
Just a few things that would make the general digital painting
workflow much easier.
(a lot of these suggestions are second nature when using photoshop, I
think it would help existing photoshop users to feel at home with the
interface a lot quicker)
* doesnt remember brush spacing
If you change the brush spacing of a brush, and then change to another
brush, and back again, it reverts brush spacing back( to 10% I think)
*doesnt remember alpha when selecting different colours
When painting, you need to be able to change the colour of the
currently selected paint, but retain the opacity. At the moment, a
colour change reverts opacity back to 100%.
* needs an outline of the brush size
You need to be able to see an outline of the current brush diameter
while painting.
* needs hotkey for brush size, suggest [ and ]
Each brush type needs to be able to scale up and down (without having
to manually jump to the brush palette). Maybe a better system would be
to have different brush types in the brush palette, and then a scale
factor that controls the brush size.
* needs hotkeys for brush alpha, suggest keys 0-9 in 10% increments
The opacity of the current colour needs to have a hotkey.
*needs hotkey for colour picker (as a toggle, suggest command or
option key)
I is ok, but usually u have your thumb resting on space ready to
scroll around, then a flick to command to pick up a colour.
* zoom in and out (suggest command + and command -)
right Thumb on command and then reach over and hit + and - with pinky
or the next one along.
*Full screen with tool palettes floating above. (hotkey tab to turn
the palettes on and off)
Similar to hitting the f key twice in photoshop, then hitting tab.
I know you are probably very busy, but if these options were
implemented, I know it would make a huge difference to any digital
painter coming from photoshop, looking for an open source alternative
on the mac.
Most of these reasons, are the only reason I am using Gimp on my mac
at the moment.

Adam Miels.
