the utterly useless stuff said in international conferences would never see the light of day in the good old days when wise journos would enjoy the lavish buffet and move on to other topics to file stories

the growth of poultry, fish feed industries and their impact on coastal ecosystems vis a vis sweeping the ocean floor for inedible and immature species has not come up in the news nor any conferences for a long time now despite the production increasing alarmingly. artificial reefs and sea ranching are being touted as panaceas and clueless journos are just lapping it up.

apparently no lessons were learned from the slew of apps and 'high tech' safety devices for fishermen that bombed badly bc i just saw an international body of dignitaries recommend a virtual fisheries academy and again the media picking up the story and running with it.

residues of pharmaceutical drugs consumed by humans via sewage discharge have already been detected in fish caught in the US coastal waters and we are not in any way behind in popping pills either so we need to also keep an eye on discharges into the sea but as Sweet Brown's famous meme goes, ain't nobody got time for that.

this is just an off the cuff rant to ensure this forum has some activity. pls dont post this anywhere. thanks.
