Hi, in version 1.6.6 with date/time columns you could filter by year
or month or day, etc. (using, year_of_created_at) this doesn't work
anymore in latest versions (I couldn't find any document or reference
explaining why it was removed nor that it was removed!).

Is there any way to achieve the same functionality? If not, is there
any plan to bring that feature back?

Thanks in advance!

Hi, yeah that feature was called modifiers. My thing with v2 was to keep the code simpler. Modifiers were pretty complicated. They were nice to have, but complicated none the less. With v2 I wanted to play nice with named_scopes and encourage them. So if you need something off the wall or something that searchlogic doesnt provide, don't be afraid to create your own named scope.

If you find you are creating the same named scope over and over, create a simple module that automatically defines those scopes. You might even consider releasing it as a gem.

Hope this helps.
