Guys,

SearchCamp2 is scheduled for 28th February and 1st March 2009 at Tidel
Park, Chennai and we plan to feature a host of interesting sessions
including debates and panel discussions on the present state and
evolution of Search Engine Marketing.

We are planning to cover organic search on day 1 and paid search on
day 2, and it'll be good if everyone of you add your names to the wiki
http://searchcamp.in/wiki/index.php?title=Participants and book your
air/train/bus tickets. We'll be closing registrations on the wiki
soon, and we strongly advise you to register asap if you are planning
to attend the conference.

Thanks a lot for your support during the 2007 edition, and we now look
forward to you to help us make this edition of SearchCamp even more
successful.

Thanks
Ezhil

Hi,

Are the posters ready? If yes then where do I find them? I wanted to put them up in our office and our training centers.

Hey friends,

Till now I was the silent member of the group,. must say you guys are doing amazing. But hey, just now I noticed one thing that, Google India is going to arrange Webmaster conference on the same day : 28th Feb,09.

Check out the details :

http://www.labnol.org/events/webmaster-conference-at-google-india/7302/

http://www.indiasearchmasters.com/index.php

They named this event as "Search Masters '09" and organized the same at Banglore. I think, we need to pre-pond or postpond the date of Search Camp, or else everyone will not able to get benefit of either one.

regards,

Amish

Hello Sukumar,
I updated the page, half an hour back.
Can you check and let me know whether the details are there?
**
This session is an wonderful eye opener to an exciting world of "Search".
Why should students consider this as an "Career" option?
Most of the career options that was available to students appear bleak in the current economic scenario. This is one area where if the candidates possess minimum 6 months of experience, they can get a decent break. The only catch is that the candidates must be willing to work in any part of India.

Which Students will be most benefited?
The current Final years can consider as an option. Especially those who had Call Center/BPO careers in mind can also look into this.

What are the necessary student skills?
Students should have decent communication skills.
Good understanding of English language.
Ability to write, will be an added advantage.
A basic degree is more than sufficient.
Even students who aspire to become designers can attend this session.

Thanks Amish for forwarding the information...
After this event i had reached "Google" and from the information we get, this event is targeted at their existing "relationships".
Still as Amish as pointed out, even if few people are to loose the opportunity of taking part because of this event, i feel it would be wise for us to postpone the event.
Infact regarding this i also had an extensive discussion with Sukumar.
We can all meet again on Monday to take a call on this.
We can meet at our usual venue...

Thanks Amish for sharing a very valuable information. I dont think there is the question of advancing the event. Regarding postponement, the call can be taken after a discussion. What do you feel Ezhil?

Dear Amrish
Thanks for the info.
We had a quick tele consult and will take  a collective all today or tomorrow. The Search Master 09 is invite only event and not many are invited. But still the change of date is imminent and most likely to be later rather than sooner.
Thanks again

Hello Members,
It very much appears that we would have to postpone searchcamp'09 by a week or two.
Please share your views.
To freeze on the dates is very much essential to reach the colleges and agencies.
We will meet tomorrow in our usual venue at 3:00 p.m to decide on the pending activities.
Those who are unable to join, please share or air your views.
Thanks,

Hi Palani,

I guess Almost all the Guys from bangalore & other Places have booked their Tickets...! &  Me too...!

I got a few calls from participants, and one of our friends from
Kolkata said that SearchCamp2 covers a wide range of toipcs and he
wants us to stick on to the dates as he has also booked his tickets
just like our friend kailash and team from Bangalore...

Also, Praveen is still in touch with key International speakers and we
already have confirmed speakers from Communicate2, Efrontier, Ebrandz,
OmLogic, Convonix, and others.

Indian Search Engine Guruji.com is also expected to send us speakers
for the event.

However, we still need more inputs from the participants to finalize
the dates, based on which we'll take a decision before tomorrow
morning.

Looking forward to more suggestions.

Thanks
Ezhil

But I think it's better to postpone for few weeks.

Postponing the dates would be a real PITA. I've already made arrangements and not sure if the new date would fit well on my calendar.

Anyway, I hope it does not get postponed once more due to someone else having summer vacations.

Ok, the sarcasm came out bad, however, I hope you get my point.
