The last searchbar button fades out and is replaced by three dots, even when there is plenty of room to show the last button. I would prefer to see this last button, especially when the settings allow for maximum width.

And, if the last search term is just a few characters, the fading out function completely obliterates it.

Attached are a couple of .jpg's which I hope will explain the situation.

The first image shows the fading effect with a very short search term.
The second image shows the effect with a very long search term, and shows that there was plenty of room available to show the last button - there was no need to fade it out, especially as a short search term button will disappear completely.

Maybe there could be a new option: "Don't fade out last button"    :)

My current settings:

Minimum 140
Maximum -1   Maximum Visible Size

Size on every keypress

"Revert to default search engine..." is checked. Others not checked.

Engine Title: 5
Search Query: 0
Suggestions Width: 0
"Where to place a link..." - In the search engine menu

We don't control the fading out so if there is actually room this may be
a firefox issue. While it looks like there might be enough space it may
be short a couple of pixels.

Thanks, those images are really helpful. But could you include a couple
of shots of the full toolbar? Is there enough room

Does this problem occur without SearchWP installed? If so is likely
their issue.

Hi Kevin,

Thanks for your quick reply and my apologies! I thought the converting of search text into buttons was a function of Searchbar Autosizer. Doh!

I realise now that it is in fact a function of SearchWP, which you mentioned in your reply. (This is one of the problems of having 94 add-ons installed - remembering which function goes with which add-on!)

So 'No', the problem does not occur after I disable SearchWP,  PLUS the SearchWP feature list includes a description of these buttons and the fact that if there is not enough room to display them all, you can get a list of the hidden search terms by hovering/clicking on the faded-out last term.

So it is the SearchWP add-on author to whom I should be making my comments, not you!!

Sorry!

Regards,

SNN
