Stepping down...

Hello All-

I hope you are all starting your summer off right.

I am writing to tell you all that I will be stepping down as "President" of the Seaport Parents Association and will no longer moderate the google group site. Simply, the lack of activity on the site by members and my commitments to the Spruce Street School SLT and PTA as well as being a public member of CB#1 seaport committee have lead me to this decision.

If there is someone out there who would like to take over the charge, by all means, I think that would be great! Just post to this discussion and whomever whats to take over, we can meet and I'd be happy to pass the torch. If no one comes forward, I will be shutting down the site by months end.

For those of you who are interested in joining the Spruce Street School Parents Group, which I highly recommend to do (even for those not going to spruce street school but are in the neighborhood) please join/subscribe at:

The group is managed wonderfully and is current and informative. Since the school serves the seaport area, it is a natural choice for those who want to stay informed and involved.

Our group was set-up so that the parents in the Seaport area can not only have a way to discuss and share ideas and concerns regarding our families in the community, but to also use this arena as a way to make an active effort to better our neighborhod by getting involved both socially and politically in the community. Please keep these parameters in mind when posting your messages.

Thanks so much for all that you've done.  I've always felt informed because of you and your efforts.  I look forward to being a part of the Spruce Street School when my daughter, Alice, starts in the fall of 2011 and then followed by her two brothers.  I've heard so many wonderful things about the school and I know you've played a large part in it.  Thank you!!
