Closing down Group.

It has been almost 5 months since I told all of you I was stepping
down as moderator and president of the SPA. Since no one has stepped
up to take over the site, I will be deleting the group from Google
Groups. I will continue to be very active at Spruce Street School as
the Co-Chair of the SLT and a very active member of the PTA. I am also
still involved as a public member of CB#1 in the seaport and Youth/
Education committees and am happy to be a resource to all of you in

I highly recommend everyone (if they haven't already) joining the
Spruce Street School Parent group. It basically serves as the SPA's
replacement giving you information and keeping you up to date not only
about our local public school PS397 Spruce Street School, but also
parent and family issues of lower manhattan specifically the Seaport
and Financial districts.

Once again, thank you for all your efforts for this group and for the
community.
I was lucky to have this list when I first moved to the area two years
ago and I'm sorry I'm not able to keep it going myself.
I will join the Spruce Street list -- and looking forward to my son
starting there next fall.

Our group was set-up so that the parents in the Seaport area can not
only have a way to discuss and share ideas and concerns regarding our
families in the community, but to also use this arena as a way to make
an active effort to better our neighborhod by getting involved both
socially and politically in the community. Please keep these parameters
