Hi all. I want to give you a big thank you for stepping up to help
organize SeaPIG. You've all brought some new ideas and meeting formats
into existence.

I've been pretty quiet the past several months partly because I'm
burned out running meetings, partly because I have a stack of projects
I want to complete, and partly because after spending 8 hours doing
Python at work I sometimes can't bear to do more of it at a meeting.

So I think it's time to formally hand off my responsibilities. Would
somebody like to take the role of "SeaPIG leader"; i.e., organizing
the organizers and making sure meetings happen and things get done? We
should also designate somebody to take on ongoing maintenance of the
wiki and mailing list software.

I also have some new project ideas, which I'll announce on the SeaPIG list.

hi Mike!
I really appreciate all your organizing and nudging of people. Very
understanding of your desire to stop doing this and redirect energy
elsewhere!

Would you still like to be on seapig-organizers and come to organizer
meetings when we manage to have one? I thought perhaps not from your
mail, but I wasn't sure.

(As a slight aside I am not sure if the present configuration of
seapig-organizers is very useful... because when a non-organizer tries
to mail the organizers, often via Reply All, it bounces. Maybe
switching to moderated would be better.)

This leads to the next topic: I am willing to take over the wiki &
mailman maintenance. This could be a nice excuse to play with some
deployment software. Also a good opportunity to relieve my
"1st-day-of-the-month guilty feeling" when it sends out my password in
cleartext.

thanks,

Jonathan
