Business Forum Committee (BFC) Meeting:

Risk Management Forum moderated by Jeff Cavignac

 

The BFC will be hosting their second quarterly meeting of 2010 on Risk Management and Insurance issues for Engineers.  Please RSVP to Cathy Riley secr...@seaosd.org by Wednesday, June 23, 1010, if you are interested in attending.  This event is open to all SEAOSD members with a desire to better understand and develop their own actions toward managing risk in the structural engineering consulting arena – from principals to entry level engineers.  Members are encouraged to bring architect guests.  This is a great opportunity to get direct feedback from one of the leaders in risk management in our industry. 

 

Now is your opportunity to get that question answered and get feedback from Mr. Cavignac and the following Principals from some of the leading firms in San Diego who will be in attendance contributing to the forum discussion:

Speaker Biography:

Jeffrey W. Cavignac, CPCU, ARM, RPLU, CRIS

President / Principal of Cavignac & Associates

 

Jeff graduated from the University of California at Los Angeles in 1980 with a degree in economics.  He received his initial insurance training at Lloyds of London.  Jeff joined the commercial insurance brokerage firm of Robson, Cavignac & Associates in 1983.  He remained there until February 1992, during which time he rose to the position of Executive Vice President.

 

In February of 1992, Jeff formed Cavignac & Associates Insurance Brokers.  Jeff was awarded the Registered Professional Liability Underwriter (RPLU) designation in 1999, the Construction Risk and Insurance Specialist (CRIS) designation in 2005, and the Associate in Risk Management (ARM) in 2007.  Jeff is a past board member of Voices for Children, the Executives Association of San Diego, the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of San Diego and the Child Abuse Prevention Foundation.

 

Presently, Jeff is on the board of the San Diego Downtown Partnership, the San Diego Architectural Foundation, the Professional Liability Agents Network, and the Downtown YMCA.  Jeff is also a member of the American Institute of Architects San Diego Chapter and the San Diego Chapter of the Consulting Engineers & Land Surveyors of California (CELSOC); he serves on the Contract Review Committees of both organizations.
