Job Title:                     Network Architect or Senior Network Engineer

End Client:                  State of NY (Office of Mental Health/ITS)

Work Location:            Onsite Hybrid - 44 Holland Avenue, Albany, NY 12229

Duration:                    12 months

Rate:                          DOE

Visa:                           US Citizens & GC only

 

Network Architect or Senior Network Engineer to design, configure and maintain the network architecture of OMH.

 

Must have Skills:

·        8+ years of expertise in configuring and troubleshooting LAN Networking equipment in a complex networking environment of at least 1,000 remote endpoints that includes switches, routers/firewalls and VPN devices. This includes troubleshooting issues using protocol analysis tools (i.e. Wireshark) and conducting in-depth analysis on network data captures.

·        Analytical and Technical knowledge of DMVPN, IPSec, OSPF/BGP is required.

·        Experience in supporting and troubleshooting 4G/5G modem technologies.

·        Multi-vendor experience is preferred.

·        Experience with Cisco hardware and Cisco IOS software in a complex TCP/IP environment including routing, port forwarding/NAT, VPN management.

·        Experience in supporting and configuring wireless network equipment from vendors such as Cisco, Ubiquiti, Aruba.

·        Experience in working with business users to understand their business requirements and implement technical solutions to meet those requirements.

·        Experience in configuring and managing network equipment using centralized management consoles (i.e. Cisco IoT Dashboard, Cisco Meraki, etc.). This includes keeping firmware up to date and standardizing device configuration.

 

Key Responsibilities:

·        Work as a member of a team that includes both technical and business users.

·        Manage changing priorities. Communicate between business users and technical resources

·        Assist with designing and maintaining ITS & OMH Network architecture for the EHR, Cyber Remediation, and other OMH initiatives.

·        Mentor and assist other Network Engineers, both state and consultant, providing guidance for debugging, troubleshooting, securing and deploying applications, data access, data communications and system architecture configurations.

·        Diagnose and debug production issues reported via ITSM. Escalate critical calls as necessary and join bridge calls to assist in diagnosis.
