Greetings my feathered friends!

We have flown through the long dark of our staff's December-January
break and it is time for the flock to form and begin planning the
**_drumroll_** ELEVENTH Seattle GNU/Linux Conference!!!

As a reminder, we are hoping to return to an in-person event this year
on Friday and Saturday, November 3rd and 4th. We'll be supporting a
hybrid format to empower participants from around the globe.

Please add your availability here so we can schedule our kick-off and
find a regular meeting time:
https://whenisgood.net/seagl2023-meeting-time-availability

Try to respond by this Sunday (1/29), and we will plan to meet as a
group the following week.

As always, you are welcome (and encouraged) to forward this email
along to any folks who might be interested in lending a beak or wing
to this amazing all volunteer staff!

Thank you for your attention, I appreciate each of you!

Apologies for the delay everyone, thank you for your patience! There isn't a great time that works with the broad range of folks interested in helping. To that end, I suggest we experiment with two meeting times. My goal is to keep all-hands meetings to the 30 minute mark after the initial kick-off, but I will set aside an hour.

The SeaGL 2023 kick-off meetings will be held:
- Monday, February 20 at 4pm PT (2023-02-21 00:00 UTC)
- Friday, February 24 at 11am PT (2023-02-24 19:00 UTC)

## Meeting Links

Hopefully I'll see many of you at one (or both) of these!

As a reminder, SeaGL is volunteer-run and we've tried to break down the work into the following committees. Consider which one(s) you'd like to be on, and whether you're able to co-lead one.

> - Attendee Experience: Focusing on attendee matters and prioritizing the SeaGL community.
> - CoC (Code of Conduct): Making sure the policies and protocols in place keep SeaGL a safe space.
> - Finance: Keeping an eye on the SeaGL books and issuing reimbursements.
> - IDEA: Promoting inclusion, diversity, equity, and access at SeaGL and beyond.
> - Partnerships: Connecting SeaGL with other groups, organizations, and sponsors.
> - Programming & Flow: Packing the SeaGL program with amazing content.
> - Promotion & Outreach: Spreading the word about SeaGL world wide.
> - SRE/Technical: Central nest for SeaGL technical operations.
> - Volunteers: Keeping the SeaGL staff happy and recruiting new volunteers to the flock.

Please share this announcement far and wide, we'll need plenty of extra help for the return to in-person and expansion to a hybrid format!
