Good Afternoon!

It looks like there is consensus on a datetime for the SeaGL 2021
organizational effort kickoff, Monday, March 8 at 5pm Pacific Time.

We will be discussing potential dates, whether to target full-remote
or hybrid, committee structures, task tracking tools, and reviewing
feedback from last year's event.

Here are links to the meeting details, please feel encouraged to share
them (and this email) along to anyone who might be interested in
lending a beak or wing.

Additionally, we still have a pretty hefty list of things to get done
before wrapping up 2020. Please review the list, add comments, and ask
for assistance where warranted.

Looking forward to another great SeaGL and an even further refined
remotely accessible experience.

Hope everyone is staying safe and healthy, excited to re-flock!

p.s. Gifts from last year are here, just need to figure out shipping
arrangements...
p.p.s. Same goes for the videos, but replace shipping with
transcribing/uploading.

Hi everyone!

Hope you're staying positive and testing negative! We had a family emergency that has me on a plane to Boston today (hi Deb!), so I won't be able to make the meeting today. Which is a bummer because...

I'm hoping to at least have a co-chair for Volunteering, if not step back altogether. I'm getting married in mid-August, and between the wedding, this recent family emergency (which is going to take some long-term attention from me), and honestly just wanting to have extra time to Live Life post-Covid, I don't expect I'll be able to dedicate the time needed to organizing volunteers for SeaGL this year (though I'm hoping next year will be less hectic and I can return, either as volunteer lead or another position!). However the last thing I want to do is leave SeaGL in a lurch! I will definitely be asking some folks if they'd like to take my place or help out with volunteer wrangling at SeaGL, and I'm planning on coming to at least these first few staff meetings (today being an exception, I'll happily review the notes!). I also plan to leave detailed notes on what I did last year, what I wish I'd done, and be available to work with whoever takes over my duties to make sure they have everything they need to be as successful as possible! I'd love to still be as involved as I can be organizing SeaGL this year, I just have less capacity to make hard commitments.

Thank you all so much in advance for understanding. I've loved being a small part of making SeaGL happen these last 3 years, and cannot wait to see what magic we make this year!

Let me know if you have any questions, comments, or concerns ❤️️❤️️❤️️ happy to chat more about any of the above directly, I just don't want to post too many personal details to the whole list.

Thank you very much for your message and the best of luck with the recent emergency, as well as congratulations regarding the marriage! I really appreciate all of your efforts to remain connected and am excited to see you as time allows.

A brief reminder for everyone else: this meeting will be taking place TODAY, Monday 3/8 at 5pm PT. I've added a minimal agenda but will try to flesh it out beforehand. If you have anything to add, please do. Look forward to chatting later!
