Greetings Libre Lovers!
The 13th edition of SeaGL is about to be released! Happening NEXT WEEK, SeaGL will be held 8a–6p on Friday and Saturday, November 7th and 8th at the University of Washington. With four keynote speakers and over 50 sessions, this year’s set is lined up to be the greatest yet! Check out our program and start planning your days by visiting
https://seagl.org/scheduleAs always, SeaGL is free/gratis and you may attend without identifying yourself. However, we are making available an optional (and anonymous) form to help us estimate attendance. Please consider letting us know if you plan on coming via
https://seagl.org/registerAlso, remember that SeaGL is 100% organized and operated by volunteers. If you’d like to take a few shifts as a room monitor or join the team next year, please check in at the info desk in the expo hall or fill out the form at
https://seagl.org/volunteerFinally, here are some social highlights you should be aware of:
1. If you haven’t checked our blog recently, you should know that while TeaGL will happen both days as usual, this year we are bringing back the tea-swap! While this message is coming late, you still have until October 31st to sign up, so don’t delay. Read
https://seagl.org/news/2025/10/13/teagl-swap-returns for more information.
2. Stop by the expo hall Friday afternoon while you are finishing lunch or sipping some tea and peruse Ada’s Technical Books and Cafe at SeaGL book sale. Some of the authors may even be presenting…
3. That’s not all for our technical bookstore friends. Join us Friday night at Ada’s event space on Capitol Hill. Their doors will be open at 6:30p with live jazz at 7:30p and some traditional community food (read: pizza) will arrive at 8p. A cash bar will be available, so come mingle until 10p. (Note, the bookstore closes at 8p, so show up early if you didn’t find something particular at the afternoon sale.)
4. Resist Tech Monopolies will be hosting a DiscoTech workshop Saturday afternoon. Bring your device and get ready to learn, share, and engage with FLOSS and surveillance-free alternatives.
5. Finish off the SeaGL experience with an hour of social activities after Saturday’s programming before heading to Big Time Brewery which is a short walk across campus.
Alright, that’s all for now. We hope you are just as excited as we are. See you next week!
