Hello friends,
We’ve been hard at work planning the 14th annual SeaGL and I realized that a message has yet to be posted to this list. Sorry about that!
In-case you ran into us at an event earlier this year, there’s an
important bit of news. Due to an unexpected scheduling conflict with our venue, we are shifting our dates to
Friday & Saturday, October 23rd and 24th.
This is a big change, and trust us, we didn’t make the decision lightly. Given the reduced timeline, we’d like to remind everyone that SeaGL is entirely run by volunteers and we’d love to have you
join the team!
Whether or not this is the first time SeaGL is coming onto your radar, we also want to draw your attention to our
call for presentations. Given the date change, we’ve re-opened and extended the CFP through the
end of June.
Like any good open source project, SeaGL thrives on community contributions. Please share the news, brainstorm a topic you’re passionate about, and submit your proposals to help build this year’s schedule!
Finally, while SeaGL is, and always has been, free to attend, we have struggled to connect with fiscal sponsors in the past couple of years. There are a wide variety of costs associated with running an event of this size, so please consider forwarding our new
sponsor landing page to anyone you think might be interested in supporting our free/libre/open community.
I think that’s all for now. Look forward to seeing you
October 23rd and 24th if not before!
