Greetings Everyone!
The flock of volunteers organizing SeaGL have been busy preparing our
annual conference these past months, and we have several important
updates to share.
Firstly, we realize that our Call for Presentations (CFP) deadline
came and went without being announced here. Thus, we've decided to
keep it open until after we return from [FOSSY][1] on August 5th.
Hopefully this extension will inspire some ideas and give you time to
share its notice on the winds.
Next, we'd like to remind everyone that SeaGL is and has always been
free to attend, with no registration required. However, we do have
quite a few expenses and while we are incredibly grateful to our
community partners, it has been challenging to connect with fiscal
sponsors over the last handful of years. Please consider sharing our
[prospectus][2] with your employer or other organizations who may be
open to supporting the effort.
Along a similar vein, if you have available bandwidth and are
interested in helping out, we'd love for you to read and respond to
this [call for SeaGL committee volunteers][3]. We have plenty left to
do before November and welcome assistance, technical and otherwise.
Before wrapping up we should probably mention that this is the 12th
annual SeaGL. Once again we will be returning to the [University of
Washington HUB][4]. The conference can be attended in-person or
watched remotely on Friday and Saturday, November 8th and 9th. We
genuinely hope you all can participate.
We thank everyone in our community for their continued patience and
understanding as we work towards another excellent event. Please
consider joining us on [Matrix][5], [Mastodon][6], or [another][7]
[social][8] [network][9]; to gather and share the latest info about
tracks, speakers, parties, and everything else we are planning!
