Hi All!

The 11th annual Seattle GNU/Linux conference is fast approaching **this Friday and Saturday**, November 3rd and 4th. As a reminder, we are _hybrid_ this year, so folks are welcome to attend either online or in person. The in person event will be held at University of Washington's Husky Union Building (HUB). Details for attending, whether online or at the HUB, can be found on our website at https://seagl.org/attend.

As usual, SeaGL can be attended anonymously and at no cost; registration is not required so we encourage you to show up. We have an [amazing program] this year, including 4 keynotes and 45 sessions, alongside social events such as TeaGL and a Blender movie night.

As a reminder, everyone involved with SeaGL is required to follow our [Code of Conduct], and new this year, in-person attendees are required to follow our [Health and Safety Policy]. We will have masks freely available at the event in support of this, but encourage attendees to bring their own.

Also per usual, we are looking for volunteers to help make the event a success. Here are some of the positions we're looking for more help with:

- **Room Monitors:** introduce speakers (with their permission), perform room head counts, make sure speakers have everything they need, and ensure sessions run smoothly and finish on time.
- **Sign-Wranglers:** post up and take down signs in and around the venue.
- **Refreshment Aides:** help with the set up, tear down, and clean up of coffee and tea breaks.
- **Information Attendants:** register attendees (if they want), check-in speakers and exhibitors, hand out programs, and provide directions and answers to questions.
- **Virtual Hosts:** keeps an eye on the Matrix channels, identifies content in need of moderation, reaches out to in-person staff as needed.

You can sign up to be an in-person or virtual volunteer through [this form], or you can get in touch with us [via Matrix or email].

Finally, we'd be remiss if we didn't thank [our sponsors] this year - it simply wouldn't be possible to put on this event without them. (Though we could certainly always use more, so if you know a person or company who would be interested in sponsoring, please forward them [our sponsor prospectus].)

I can't emphasize enough how excited the organizing team is to be back in person seeing you all again. The entire volunteer staff has worked incredibly hard to make this year's SeaGL an awesome event, both online and in person, and you - our community - are what make it all worthwhile. We hope you'll consider joining us on Friday and Saturday!
