I'm using seafile 1.8.2 (under mysql) and didn't find a way to use "Syncable Share" (see attached pictures).
On my user account, when I try to create a "sub-library" from any folders, I got a text explaining how to create a "Syncable Share" but no options to make it.
How to create a sub-library ? (please note, all other options are working fine)

I like to use sub-library, this way : Exemple :

A Group "Genomic" with a library "Sample Processing" and a sub-folder for each Samples, ex :

Sample Processing
  !
  !- FLU001 (directory I like to use as a sub-libraries for bio-stat group)

A group "Biostat" with a library "Project FLU" and a sub-folder "FLU001", ex :

Biostat
  !
!- FLU001 (sync this folder with the "Sample Processing" FLU001 directory)

Is this workflow is possible via sub-library, or is there another way to do this ?

Thanks for your advice

Is the folder shared by others to you? Seafile doesn't support sharing a folder shared by others to you.
If you're the owner of the folder, it should be able to create sub-library.

Sub-libraries work exactly the way you want. But it seems some error occurred in your case. Have you seen any error messages when you click on the "syncable share" tab?

Does that mean sub-library only works from Master "Libraries" ?
I don't have any error message, just the text message show in the tab "syncable share" (see sublib2.png)
I'm also the owner of the folder but I can't use sub-lib (just seeing text in the tab).

This workflow should work (as sub-lib are only coming from Master Libraries) ? :

USERS - GROUPS :
HIPC (user/manager : hipc@domain, group : HIPC)
GenomicCore (user/manager : gcore@domain, group : GC)
BioStat(user/manager : biostat@domain, group : BS)

My Home Libraries :

HIPC tree :
Project1
Design (link to Biostat design sub-lib : *1)
Genomic (link to GenomicCore design sub-lib : *2)
Results (link to Biostat design sub-lib : *3)

GenomicCore tree :
Project1
  SampleProcessing (sub-lib : *2)

BioStat tree :
Project1
  Design (sub-lib : *1)
  Results (sub-lib : *3)

Do we have to cross-link groups for this use case ? eg :
HIPC (groups : HIPC, GC, BS)
GenomicCore (groups : GC, HIPC)
BioStat(groups : BS - HIPC)

The idea is to organize different users groups sub-lib inside HIPC Librarie.
After created the sub-lib, how to link libraries with sub-lib ?

An entry on the wiki explaining the "syncable share" with screen captures would be great!

You may mis-understood some concepts. A sub-library is just like a normal library, once it's created, it can be synced and shared (to person or group). You can do anything to it just as to a "master" library.

For example, supposed you create a sub-library from LibraryA's sub-folder FolderA, and you have a group MyGroup, you can simply share FolderA to MyGroup.

If you have learned how to use a library, sub-library works completely the same.
