Morning all and thanks for allowing me to join.

My boat buddy and I have just purchased Seadog 'Onar', hull 81 to replace our Hunter 27.  She's a bit of a project having been stood for several years but we are prepared for the work.

Looking forward to learning all about the Seadog and calling upon your experience to help us through the refit.  She still has her Perky 4.107 but she's not been run up for a couple of years.  The aft bulkhead is rotten but I understand that's really common.  The standing rigging was all replaced in 2014 but has never been under load.  I havent peeked under the sail covers yet that are ready for the bin!

So yes, a lot of work but she appears basically sound.  We will be changing her name in due course to Phydeaux which we think is fun!

Thanks again for having us.

Hello Gary

Having just spent two years rejuvenating one, be careful of assuming insurance companies don't recognise time on the hard in the the life of rigging. I was repeatedly told by companies that it is harder on the rigging as there is no give as when the boat is in the water and hence fatigue failure is just as likely. Even the surveyor had heard of companies quoting this.

Good luck

John

Thanks for the welcome folks.

I've noticed that some of you have new extended sprayhoods?
Can I ask where you sourced them and approx cost for standard example and extended?

Many Thanks,

Gary Weller
