Spring Series
We had a good turnout of 12 Lasers and a Sunfish for our second series races. I can’t really tell you what happened, as I went out without the bung in the back of my boat, and it took me the entirety of the first race to work that out before I returned to shore during the second. Anyway, I can report lots of exhausted smiles at the end of an excellent days racing with mild weather and great wind. Results on the website soon.
Crawfish boil
We had our 2013 crawfish boil (see pic) – thanks to the social committee for organizing!

Gas Grill
A couple of weeks ago the outside Grill was left on and resulted in $268 gas bill for the month, not to mention the fire risk. We are looking at fitting an automatic gas shut off valve that will not allow the gas to be on for more than 60 mins. Please ALWAYS shut off the main gas valve after use as well as well as double check all valves on grill. Also the grill is just like any other part of the facility, so please clean it and leave it as you found it (or better) Thanks!

Revision to SSC Bylaws
As proposed at the 2013 annual meeting below is a link to the proposed changes to the SSC bylaws. The Board of Governors have proposed these changes primarily to simplify our processes, reflect changing use of technology (e.g. email vs. post) and give the club flexibility with respect to the make-up of the Board itself.
In line with the requirements of the bylaws to make a change to the text, the final reading of the changes will be at the May Board meeting. Any members with any objections or proposed revisions to the text are invited to inform the Commodore at comm...@seabrooksailingclub.org prior to the meeting on 11 May. Revisions are here: http://www.seabrooksailingclub.org/images/pdfs/bylaws%20revision%202%20ssc.pdf

Guests need to be on the list if they want to come in without you – please send names to peter...@gmail.com in advance.
Watermelon Race
We will need some assistance on the day with running this race – should not be more onerous than either dropping watermelons in the bay or explaining the rules to people. Please reply asap to dcur...@gmail.com

Sat 6th July - Windsurf class – contact b_...@juno.com or see the website homepage for more details
V15 fleet
Calling all SSC V15 sailors, if you are interested in becoming part of a more organized fleet please get in touch with Malcolm Ross at malco...@yahoo.com
Maintaining your boat parking area
Please be reminded that it is your responsibility to maintain your boat parking spot using the mowers located under the building next to the rescue boats. There is a $15 charge if you do not do this - the reason for this is that the boat park quickly starts to look unkempt if the grass starts to grow high. You can get the area mowed for $5 – email sail...@yahoo.com if interested.
