Seabirds.net UNDERWAY

Hi everyone,

Construction of Seabirds.net is getting underway. Annette Henry will
be working primarily on the website, with some help from Moritz Schmid
in the future.

Our first goal will be to work on a template layout design for
Seabirds.net - When Annette is finished with that, we will all have
the opportunity to constructively criticize OR praise :) the layout.

The next goal will be the construction of a forum so we can all move
over into that framework, relieving us of any downfalls in the Google
network. (e.g. Google is blocked in some countries).

From there we will begin moving forward in the creation of a permanent
World Seabird Personnel Directory. Those who have already input their
information into the directory will be listed.

Right now the website is being hosted by Axiom, and we are looking
into options for a new host. Meanwhile, Axiom will be working on the
database issues (data interoperability etc...), which will be linked
into seabirds.net.

Current costs of the website are being dealt with by PSG (i.e. The
domain name), and will switch over to the World Seabird Union once the
organization is officially formed.


I'm really looking forward to working with you all on this, and am
excited to see your comments and suggestions.
