Hello, my name is Brenda DiVIncenzo. I am the Volunteer Coordinator at the
Discovery Center at Murfree Spring. I wanted to let you and your students
know about a new summer Wetland Program we would like to try. We are in the
process of forming a Wetland Environmental Team (W.E.T.) who would lead
visitors around our 20 acres of wetlands explaining about the plants and
animals that live here, the uniqueness of having these wetlands in an urban
area and the importance of preserving them for future generations. Along the
tour there will be activites planned such as bird watching or water sampling
etc. I have contacted you because I think that you and your students may be
able to bring out different aspects of the science of wetlands to the visitors
on the tour. Tours and activites could be based on students area of
expertise. This is great practice for future science educators! This program
will run for the months of June and July and will be presented each morning
Mon-Fri at 10:30am. Training sessions to get to know the wetlands will start
on May 11 at 3:00
If you have any students who will be around this summer and they would be
interested could you please pass on this info. I can be contacted by phone
890-2300 or email brendadi...@comcast.net Thank you so much for your
time and help,
--
