Dave Carey,

My friend recently acquired a decent thrift shop bike with a stuck seat post.

Alum. post, steel frame. Stuckedness is chemical not mechanical. What is your favorite unstickifying method for such a scenario?

Best,
Cranky

Life is good in the sunshine state.

Life is grand. New job. Looking forward to some wet cold weather, aka snow in the mountains.

I've been busy trying to shut down the present firm and joining a CA firm that wants to start a WA office. I hope the work situation finally settles down in 2016.

We're putting an offer on a house in Mill Creek. Suburbia.

I got married over the summer; we live in Seward Park, not far from Rainier Beach. Still doing satellite oceanography downtown. I have a 1975 Cal 29 that gets some legit use during the summer... made it almost to Desolation Sound this past September.

Oh, and I have four cats that are 14+ years old.

Jeez Dave Carey, that's big news that you're running a cat nursing home, I can't believe you didn't tell us earlier! Because I have a couple applicants. Oh yeah - and congratulations on the marriage!

Wow, the "stuck seat post" subject really brought out a lot of news!

Hmph.

I recall writing a long post about the Apple Event a couple of months that not one of you assholes responded to.

Especially Jeff. Where the hell is he anyway?

That post was way too long to read.  I don't know where he is, but I do see him around, from time to time.   I think he's boycotting his own group.

Congrats! Dave Carey.

I think Jeff's bosses finally found out that he actually works for the company, so now they are giving him work.

Wow! Huge congrats, Dave, and Jeff, and everyone. I love the Cat Hospice idea. I'm sure I could find some walkers to donate.

The cat hospice could use lots of pee-pads. Lots and lots of pee-pads. DIapers did not work out too well.
